For my project I decided to work with a Nike Advertisement. The advertisement
was focused on presenting a new nike shoe known as the nike hyperdunk. Therefore their slogan
was based on letting their audience know about their new product and it stated"Now you Know." Knowning that Nike is a product that is widely used and has a vast audience, from teenagers to adults, sought to subvert its original meaning and let the audience know of other issues surrounding the Nike brand. For this reason I decided to combine the original advertisement to a picture that exposed a child working on nike shoes. Moreover, I also made a continuation of the original message to subvert its meaning.But to take the message even further, I stated how badly they were payed in the sweatshops. So in the end I used the original message of "Now you know," but used it to inform the audience of the injustices that are carried out to create these shoes.
